Perimist was founded in the early 1960’s by my mother,
Millie Pitylak, who raised and showed Shetland Sheepdogs
and Collies. Though Shelties were her primary breed, we
always had Collies in the house. She was a constant
student of breed type and genetics and believed that
health, soundness, and temperament should be a priority
in every breeding. In her later years, she suspended her
breeding program, ending her career with notable
accomplishments such as a Best in Show in Canada and as
one of the founders of the Shetland Sheepdog Club of
Greater Detroit.
Perimist lay dormant
until the late 1990’s when I purchased a tri-color male
Collie for show from West Point Collies. Society Face
The Music, or "Shane", brought me back to the dog show
world I grew up in and began the revitalization of
Perimist.
Continuing Perimist's commitment to stay true to breed
type without compromising health and soundness and to
preserve the wonderful Collie temperament, I am building
a breeding program to produce dogs that are a joy to the
families that own them and a proud example of the ideal
Collie.
